The fourth edition of Texhibition Istanbul Fabric, Yarn and Textile Accessories Fair took place on 13-15 September, welcoming 444 exhibitors and 20,354 visitors from 112 countries.
In addition to Turkey, 4,091 buyers came from the UK, Germany, Spain, Poland, Greece, USA, Dominique Republic, Columbia, Russia, Ukraine and the Middle East. This edition also marked a new visitor record, with a significant increase of 43.7% in international visitors and almost 10% more visitors in total in comparison to March 2023.
Organised by the Istanbul Textile Exporters’ Association (ITHIB) with the support of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ICOC), the fair covered all relevant sourcing sectors of the international textile industry.
“Turkish exports recorded a volume of USD 123.4 billion in the first half of this year,” says Ahmet Öksüz, chairman of ITHIB. “This means that the Turkish textile industry, as the fifth largest supplier in the world and the second largest supplier in the EU, can hold its own in a difficult global market environment.
“As one of the most important players in the global textile market, Turkey is home to around 20,000 companies with 1.1 million employees, including one of the largest denim producers in the world. Turkish fabrics and textile accessories are in demand worldwide thanks to their high quality, innovation and commitment to sustainability in production. Textile exports reached USD 6 billion in the first half of 2023.”
